CT features are suggestive of renal cell carcinoma or Hypernephroma. Gross hematuria, flank pain, and palpable flank mass are the classical triad. Renal vein thrombosis: opacified periureteral and perinephric (" cobwebs ") collaterals, renal vein attenuation and enlargement. 1 article features images from this case

The radiologic and clinical aspects of calcified hypernephroma. Sniderman KW, Krieger JN, Seligson GR, Sos TA. The radiologic, pathologic, and clinical findings were reviewed in 18 patients with calcified hypernephroma and 6 with calcified benign renal lesions. Most renal adenocarcinomas (hypernephromas) are characterized histologically by a dense, avascular, fibrous capsule. This capsule is rare or nonexistent in other benign or malignant renal tumors.

The renal cell carcinoma (formerly hypernephroma) comprises approx. 85% of all malignant kidney tumors. Other forms are the urothelium carcinoma originating from the renal pelvis (10 %), non-Hodgkin lymphomas, sarcomas, and the nephroblastomas occurring in childhood (Wilms' tumor). The renal cell carcinoma is the subject of this chapter.

Fusion anomalies of the kidneys can generally be placed into 2 categories: (1) horseshoe kidney and its variants and (2) crossed fused ectopia. Pulmonary metastasis from hypernephroma usually consists of annular masses scattered throughout both lungs.

Hepatic adrenal rest tumors (HART), previously been termed primary hypernephroma of the liver or hypernephroid carcinoma of the liver, are very rare liver tumors with histology similar to adrenocortical carcinoma.

The Pathology of Tumours of the Urinary Tract: (Section of Radiology). Newcomb WD. Carcinoma, hypernephroma, sarcoma, and teratoid tumours.Much the commonest malignant renal tumour in adults is the hypernephroma, thought by Grawitz and others to be derived from ectopic adrenal rests.

Hypernephroma can also produce a bulging renal contour (Figs. 10.25, 10.27). The differential diagnosis should include a parenchymal lobule, which is easily mistaken for a tumor (Fig. 10.26). Steinbach 1975-06-19 00:00:00 Extension of hypernephroma into the inferior vena cava was demonstrated by ultrasound. When a solid renal lesion is encountered, it is suggested that the inferior vena cava be scanned. We wish to present the findings in a patient with hypernephroma because the clinical picture and roentgen manifestations of the disease were unique in our experience. Case Report The patient, a white male, aged 44 years, was admitted to the hospital on Sept. 13, 1934, complaining of … Selective Renal Arteriographic Appearance of Necrotic Hypernephroma. Klaus Ranniger; Klaus Ranniger Consideration of the nature of hypernephroma shows great variety in presentation and speed of growth. Blood supply of these tumours has been shown to be irregular, and considerable numbers of anoxic cells have been shown to be present.
